The crispness in the air, the caramel apples, and the abundance of flannel all make me want to jump head first into a crunchy pile of leaves. But, Somewhere between the leaves changing colors, football tailgates, pumpkin patches, buying candles, and breaking out the fleece-lined leggings, I feel like I am constantly reminded that fall is the second best (to summer of course) season!
But, my absolute favorite part of fall is that it means it’s time to light those candles. Something about crisp air and the warm glow of a candle gets me going! And nothing gets me more excited than knowing we have a candle collection to take me from fall with Harvest Moon, into the new year with Winter Wonderland plus everything in between.
And, Harvest Moon is a fall time classic! The best part of my day is when I can curl up with a good book, light that Harvest Moon candle, and breathe in the swirling mix of cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg that truly gives me a feeling for the season to come.
So, in honor of fall and my favorite Harvest Moon candle for inspo, I’m sharing a delicious (because I tasted it!) DIY recipe for pumpkin body scrub. All you need is a little pureed pumpkin, brown sugar, coconut oil and cinnamon. I’m a rookie when it comes to pumpkin for the skin but it can actually work wonders because it’s rich in enzymes and vitamins. Vitamin A hydrates, soothes, and softens the skin, and the various Vitamin B’s in the squash can improve circulation. It’s also loaded vitamins and antioxidants promoting healthy hair and skin, also aids collagen production and fights against free radicals so you’ll slow the signs of aging via an abundance of Vitamin C! Also, the beta-carotene in pumpkins has been known to improve skin texture! The uses of pumpkin are almost as endless as the number of pumpkin spice lattes that we’ll al buy this fall!
